Pageant Music could very well be called Liturgy Music, for it seeks to contribute to the rich tradition of music for sacred use in the Christian church; the linage of Pope Gregory, Josquin, the Bachs, Rheinberger, Stravinsky, Frank Martin, Duke Ellington, and Rich Mullins and many other Christian writers, composers and musicians. Pageant Music is a record label. Pageant Music is a music publishing company. Pageant Music is an aesthetic think tank. Pageant Music provides resources for churches who wish to expand the sonic palette of worship. Pageant Music is all about ancient liturgical music. Pageant Music is also all about new music. About American Gospel. About jazz and all the American urban sounds. About rich literature. About action and contemplation. And with it’s own “striving and...childish stammering”, Pageant Music seeks to give glory to the Triune Creator of the universe through the wonderful gift of music.

vision of its founder, M-Ticchi. M-Ticchi was influenced in his music vision by [1] his faith in Jesus Christ, [2] studies in classical music and composition at music schools and conservatories, [3] a thousand jazz gigs and many Herbie Hancock and Lennie Tristano recordings, [4] his studies and friendship with modern music guru Ron Thomas, [5] his early participation in choral singing, [6] early doses of 70’s and 80’s, now 90’s and 00’s (good)pop music, [7] Charles Ives, [8] listening to distant, joyful children at play, [9] his disappointment in the one dimensionality of much “contemporary Christian” music and many of its proponents, [10] His new enthusiasm at hearing several notable exceptions, [11] His desire and commitment to work for the church.
We at Pageant Music hope, in some humble way, to edify the church beginning here in the early 21st century by providing music directors and churches new resources for rich, meaningful worship music. We also hope that each new CD, wether it be original choral music, low-fi art-pop, strange, dark, fun or jazzy, will be a source of further study, edification and exploration for those believers and congregations out there who listen.
